The Contractor shall provide grounds maintenance and seasonal cleanup services for specified City of New Rochelle Fire Department facilities. The contract includes all services such as furnishing all materials, equipment, labor, and incidentals necessary to perform the maintenance as specified and under the direction of the Superintendent of Streets and Highways or an authorized designee. The awarded vendor must designate a foreman or representative to coordinate between the City and the vendor, and must provide a contact cell phone number and email for the person administering the contract. Locations for this work are Fire Station 1 (45 Harrison Street), Fire Station 4 (155 Drake Avenue), and Fire Station 5 (496 Stratton Road). Work includes: - SPRING CLEANING (one-time service): • Removal of all leaves, branches, and sticks from the property • Raking of all lawn areas using steel rakes • Blowing of all grounds (electric blowers only; if batteries die, debris must be swept to edge of property) • Loading, removal, and off-site disposal of all debris - MONTHLY GROUNDS MAINTENANCE (April through November, weekly): • Mowing all lawn areas • Trimming and edging of lawn and landscaped areas • Blowing all grounds • Removal of papers, litter, and debris • Pruning of bushes and shrubs as necessary • Loading, removal, and off-site disposal of all debris Instructions to bidders include completing all sections of the bid document, filling in all blank spaces with the required information, submitting sealed hard copy bids by the due date, and labeling the envelope with the bid specification number and due date. Firms that are qualified as Minority Business Enterprises (MBE) or Women Business Enterprises (WBE) are encouraged to submit bids.
