Proponents are invited to prequalify to bid for the restoration, conservation, and performance upgrades of the rolled steel windows previously removed from Centre Block. The scope of work includes: conducting condition assessments and photographic documentation of each window; complete disassembly, labeling, and inventory of components; transportation of assets between the construction manager's warehouse and the bidder's workshop; offsite storage at the bidder's workshop; repackaging and re-crating of windows according to the construction manager's procedures; removing dirt, corrosion, and accretions; straightening and repairing mild steel ventilators and frames; straightening, repairing, and replacing brass and steel drips; removing contemporary glazing where required; applying exterior-rated glazing as determined; finish testing and application to match aesthetic and protective requirements while retaining historic patina; reassembly with stabilized or replicated hardware; maintaining documentation of all interventions, and providing final conservation reports with specifications, product data, and photographs. The scopes of work will be further detailed for those who successfully prequalify. The work may be packaged as determined by the construction manager and the project stakeholders.
