Renovation of a mixed-use development in Worcester, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility; and parking garage.
Worcester State University, the Awarding Authority, invites sealed bids for Lighting Replacement at the Worcester State University in the City of Worcester, Massachusetts, in accordance with the Contract Documents prepared by ARC/Architectural Resources Cambridge, Boston, MA The project work consists of lighting replacement in existing campus facilities. All work shall comply with the requirements outlined in the Contract Documents, including, but not limited to, the plans and specifications for the Massachusetts State Project: Lighting Replacement at Worcester State University. Project: The Project generally consists of two separate parts: Part 1: replacement of existing fluorescent fixtures at the Competition Gym at the WSU Wellness Center. Part 1 has an estimated construction cost of approximately $525,000. Part 2: replacement of existing lighting at the 6 story WSU parking garage. Part 2 has an estimated construction cost of $575,000. Project funding comes from two sources therefore each part will require its own schedule of values, schedule, and requisitions for payment. Although the funding sources are separate, the General Contractor is expected to bid on both Parts 1 & 2. General Project Information: This project includes the replacement of existing lighting systems in two key facilities at Worcester State University: the Competition Gym within the Wellness Center (constructed circa 2006), and the campus Parking Garage (construction date unknown). The existing lighting in both facilities has reached the end of its useful life and no longer meets current performance or efficiency standards. 1. The Competition Gym is a large-volume, high-use space that supports varsity athletics, recreational programming, and campus events. The scope of work in this facility includes the removal of outdated lighting fixtures and the installation of new, energy-efficient LED fixtures. The upgraded lighting will provide improved visibility and uniformity across the court surface, enhancing the experience for athletes, spectators, and other users while reducing maintenance and operating costs. 2. The Parking Garage supports daily campus operations and serves faculty, staff, students, and visitors. The lighting within the garage is critical to ensuring user safety and security. The project includes the replacement of existing fixtures with high-efficiency LED lighting designed to improve illumination levels while lowering energy consumption and improving long-term reliability.
