Jackson County Department of Transportation is seeking bids for trucking and transporting road materials. The contract will be for a one-year period, with the possibility of a one-year extension, and bid prices shall remain firm for the duration. The scope of work includes furnishing semi-trucks and trailers to transport road materials to various locations within Jackson County during construction. Trucks must be capable of stockpiling and have a tailgate chain system able to spread gravel as low as three inches on the road. Contractors will receive five days’ notice before services are needed. If a contractor is unavailable, JCDOT will use the next lowest bidder. JCDOT will pay a per hour fee for specified units, starting and ending at times and locations as determined by JCDOT. The contract may be used for work on state trunk lines in the county. Pricing will remain for the duration of the agreement. Bidders must provide completed pricing sheets, at least three references for similar work, a company qualifications description, and certain affidavits and certificates as outlined. Bids must be submitted electronically by the specified deadline and must be complete and signed by an authorized official. Bids must remain valid for at least ninety days from opening. The county may accept or reject any or all bids and reserves the right to waive informalities or irregularities. Award will be based on pricing, references, and experience/qualifications. The successful contractor must meet insurance requirements and, if subcontracting, must provide details about subcontractors. All bidders must be familiar with specifications, terms, and conditions before submitting, as no claims for misunderstanding will be accepted.
