Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Athens, Georgia. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; water / sewer project; playground / park / athletic field; and playground / park / athletic field.
The Unified Government of Athens-Clarke County (ACCUG) is a unified city/county government located in the northeast section of the state of Georgia and is approximately sixty (60) miles northeast of Atlanta, Georgia. The Unified Government of Athens-Clarke County (the government's official name) was formed in 1991 by a referendum which required the combining of The City of Athens and Clarke County. ACCUG serves an area population of approximately 100,000 with annual growth projected at 1% per year. ACCUG provides a multitude of local and state-funded services, which includes, but is not limited to, Public Safety, Utility, Courts, Corrections, Tax and Fire Services. ACCUG employs approximately 1,900 people. The Project consists of converting a baseball field into a youth football field, adding amenities such as bleachers and scorer stand; parking lot demolition and asphalt repaving and restriping; installing new trees; directional sign installation, stormwater facility improvements, and field irrigation. Named in honor of Dr. Wayne Satterfield, a founding member of the Little League program in Athens, Satterfield Park offers a variety of organized sports and fields for practice, match play, and tournaments. This 13-acre park features: 2 Youth Baseball Fields 2 Junior Baseball Fields 1 Youth Softball Field Batting Cages Concession Stand Multi-use Field 3 Tennis / Pickleball Courts with lighting Playground Picnic Area One of the baseball fields has been used as a makeshift youth football field. This project will convert that baseball field into a full-time youth football field, and add amenities such as bleachers and scorer stand and expand the field's storage capacity for team and field equipment. The project will also include parking lot demolitions and asphalt repaving and restriping, installing new trees and park amenities, directional sign installation, stormwater facility improvements, field irrigation. An original Bid Bond for 5% of the total bid must be submitted with the bid. Performance and Payment Bonds in the amount of 100% of the contract price will be required if contract is awarded. The Bidder shall affix to the outside of its bid envelope, its Georgia Contractor License Number. The Unified Government of Athens-Clarke County reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any technicalities or irregularities, and to award the bid based on the highest and best interest of the Unified Government of Athens-Clarke County. The Owner will in no way be liable for any costs incurred by any bidder or potential bidder in the preparation of its Bid in response to this Invitation to Bid. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. Satterfield Park Renovations: Demolition of existing baseball field and related parking, lighting, fencing, scoring booths and related appurtenances; Construction of new sodded and irrigated football field (1.32 ac) with new lighting provided by Musco; new 400 SF CMU block press box/storage structure, new 2,529 SY asphalt parking lot with 1,258 LF of 24" concrete curb and gutter, 6,700 SY asphalt parking lot resurfacing, 99 precast wheel stops, 1,500 SY concrete sidewalks, and related grading, drainage, striping, signage, erosion control, site furnishings and landscaping. 2. Note: All playground equipment and rubberized surfacing will be contracted separately by the County. Contact to be determined.
