This is a service / maintenance or supply contract in Tiny, Ontario. Contact the soliciting agency for additional information.
The work involves roadside mowing to control the growth of grasses, weeds, and brush from ditches and road shoulders within the Township right of way. Approximately 1130 lane kilometers of cutting are required, completed within 2 cuts/mobilizations and a provisional 3rd cut, totaling up to 1695 lane kilometers depending on unit pricing and seasonal need. The majority of mowing will be on concession roads; areas within subdivisions, hamlets, and parks are handled by Township staff. The contractor must provide all equipment, personnel, and materials; ensure a "clean cut" to a maximum of 75mm in height; manage all required traffic control according to current regulations; perform trimming around intersections for visibility; and avoid leaving debris or missed strips. All unacceptable areas must be re-mowed within two working days at no additional cost. Special care is required near private property and appurtenances. For guiderail trimming, additional handwork is required around specified locations. The services are for an initial 12-month term with the possibility of a two-year extension at the Township's discretion, subject to satisfactory performance. Equipment must meet safety and operational requirements, including proper signage and lighting, and contractors may store equipment at the public works yard. Bidders must submit quotations electronically via the designated bidding website, ensuring all required forms, references, and acknowledgements are included. All inquiries must be submitted through the project website. Contractors must comply with all relevant safety, insurance, licensing, and regulatory requirements, and be verified through the Township’s compliance monitoring program. Mobilization must occur within specified timeframes following notification. Liquidated damages may be assessed for late mobilization. Subcontractors, if any, must be approved and listed. A one-year warranty on materials and workmanship is required, and all repairs must be made at the contractor's expense if deficiencies arise. The Township reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to cancel or extend the contract as needed.
