The work consists of cleaning the pipes of the main water supply network using the unidirectional flushing method. The objective of this method, following an established intervention plan, is to isolate and drain sections of the network in a specific direction, in order to remove deposits and sediments that may have accumulated inside the pipes, with the aim of improving the quality of the water distributed and ensuring the hydraulic performance of the network is maintained. The City will provide the successful bidder with a flushing programmed developed according to the configuration of the network and the capacity of the water sources. This programmed will be divided into independent sectors to facilitate the planning and execution of the work. To ensure effective cleaning, a minimum flow velocity of 1.0 metre per second (1.0 m/s) must be achieved in the pipes during flushing operations.
