Demolition and renovation of an educational facility in Walpole, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility; and educational facility.

The Education Cooperative seeks qualified and licensed contractors to provide all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and services necessary to convert two existing shower stalls into one expanded, handicap-accessible shower within an existing locker room facility. The project includes, but is not limited to, demolition, construction, plumbing modifications, and all associated work required to deliver a fully code-compliant installation. 3.1 Demolition Selective demolition of existing shower partitions, fixtures, finishes, and associated plumbing serving the two existing shower units. Proper disposal of demolition debris in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations. Protection of adjacent finishes, walls, floors, and building systems during demolition. 3.2 Construction and Carpentry Reconfiguration of shower area to create a single, expanded shower space suitable for handicap accessibility. Installation of new wall framing, blocking, and substrates as required for fixtures, grab bars, and accessories. Installation of waterproofing systems, wall finishes, flooring, and transitions appropriate for a wet environment. Installation of slip-resistant flooring materials consistent with code requirements. 3.3 Plumbing Work Modification, relocation, or replacement of water supply lines, drains, valves, and fittings as required to serve the new shower configuration. Installation of a new shower control valve, shower head, and related fixtures compliant with accessibility standards. All plumbing work shall be performed by a Massachusetts-licensed plumber. Pressure testing and verification of all new or modified plumbing systems. 3.4 Accessibility Features Installation of ADA-compliant grab bars, seating (if required), controls, and clearances. Proper slope and drainage to prevent standing water. Threshold-free or low-profile entry consistent with 521 CMR and ADA requirements. 3.5 Permits and Inspections Obtain all required permits, including but not limited to building and plumbing permits. Coordinate and pass all required inspections with the Town of Walpole Building Department and any other Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ). 3.6 Cleanup and Restoration Daily jobsite cleanup and final cleaning upon completion. Restoration of adjacent areas affected by construction to their original condition or better.
