The work consists of reconstruction and rehabilitation of approximately 20 miles of roadway along Bob Ruud Memorial Highway and Bell Vista Avenue. The project begins in Pahrump at the intersection of State Highway 160 and Bell Vista Avenue and provides access to Ash Meadows National Wildlife Refuge and Death Valley National Park. The purpose of the project is to improve roadway safety and drainage conditions. Bob Ruud Memorial Highway functions as a rural highway, while Bell Vista Avenue is located in a more urban setting with multiple intersecting approach roads. Work includes roadway reconstruction and rehabilitation, full-depth reclamation at varying depths, placement of new aggregate base, asphalt paving, drainage improvements, safety enhancements, and replacement of existing culverts, some of which will require excavation of approximately ten feet. The project includes substantial quantities of aggregate base, asphalt pavement, full-depth reclamation, and culvert installation, and will be completed under a full and open competition.
