The Municipality of Colchester is requesting proposals for the supply of a Solid Waste Sorting Grapple for use in sorting material at the Construction and Demolition site. The grapple will be installed on a Caterpillar 320 GC excavator and will require the grapple unit to be installed on a CRAIG mount for connection to the Caterpillar 320 GC excavator. The grapple unit will need to be installed on a CRAIG mount for connection to the excavator. The excavator and grapple unit will be used to sort material at the C&D site to increase diversion of material such as metal, clean wood and concrete. The proposal for the grapple will need to provide details of the following requirements: o Grapple size to be in the 500 to 600 litre capacity o Synchronized skeleton style, reinforced clam shells made of high strength steel. o Edge to edge jaw contact o Cylinder damping o High clamping force o Swivel, open, and close functions can run independently of rotation Proposals shall be valid for acceptance for a period of thirty (30) days from the closing date or such additional time as may be mutually agreed upon in writing. The Municipality reserves the right to waive formality, informality, or technicality with the acceptance of proposals for this work. Any proposal not supported by the information requested in these Terms of Reference may be rejected. The Municipality reserves the right to negotiate with any Supplier who has submitted a proposal or with other parties as deemed in the best interests of the Municipality. The Supplier whose proposal is accepted by the Municipality is hereafter referred to as the "Accepted Supplier." This Request for Proposals is not to be construed as an offer. The Municipality reserves the right not to proceed with any or all aspects of this work without compensation for expenses to Suppliers.
