Renovation of an educational facility in Torrance, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

The project is for the Levy Adult Education Center Roof Replacement. The base bid includes the Administration Building, Cafeteria Building, and Classrooms Building A/B (Rooms 1-8). Additive Alternate #1 includes the Kindergarten Building (K1 & K2) and Classroom Building D/C (Rooms 9-16). Additive Alternate #2 includes all Portable Buildings and Walkway Canopies. The scope of work is governed by the formal bid requirements of the California Uniform Public Construction Cost Accounting Act (CUPCCAA). Instructions to bidders include: - All bids must be submitted online on the forms provided by the District. - Bidders and certain designated subcontractors must be prequalified as stated. - Mandatory Pre-Bid Conference attendance is required for all bidders. - The successful bidder must possess a valid and active Class C-39 Roofing License at the time of bid and throughout the duration of the contract. - Subcontractors must be licensed for their trades. - Each bid must be accompanied by required bid security. - Prevailing wage requirements must be observed. - Separate payment and performance bonds are required, each for 100% of the contract amount. - The District reserves the right to reject any or all bids or waive irregularities. - Bidders must list designated subcontractors as required by law. - Substitution requests must be made at the time of bid on the designated form. SCOPE: A. Unless otherwise specified, the Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and incidentals necessary to replace the existing roof system on various school buildings at Levy Adult Education Center located in Torrance, CA. Work shall include, but is not limited to the following: 1. Abatement of roof penetration mastic. 2. Demolition of existing roof system to structural deck. 3. Inspection and replacement of damaged decking. 4. Installation of Owner-Furnished roof system per manufacturer specifications. Refer to product specifications for material quantities to be Owner-Furnished. B. Construction Schedule: 03/23/2026 – 04/17/2026. C. All work shall be performed in accordance with applicable building ordinances and other applicable codes.
