Sealed bids for stone to be picked up will be received in the office of the Chief Financial Officer at the Shelby County Administration Building. The County Commission reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities in awarding this bid to the lowest responsive bidder. Bidders must state that bids submitted are firm and that no claims for errors will be made after bids are opened and thereafter. All bidders must use the provided form for submitting their bid, and all bids must be sealed and marked in the lower left-hand corner as "BIDS – STONE PICKED UP" with the opening date and time. Late bids will not be opened. Bids will not include State Sales Tax or Federal Excise Tax. Records showing the successful bidder and prices quoted will be available for examination upon request. Use of trade names and numbers is to establish a standard of quality and not to limit competition. Bids may be disqualified before awarding of the contract for: failure to mark the envelope as required, failure to sign or notarize the bid document, or failure to include requested information, samples, or other specified details.
