Site work and paving for a civil project in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
The Project includes the following Work: Removal and replacement of the existing culvert and roadway. The culvert will be replaced with 60" Smooth Lined Corrugated Plastic Pipe (SLCPP) depressed 6" into the streambed. Precast concrete winged end walls will be installed on the upstream and downstream ends of the culvert. An R-6 rip rap apron choked with native streambed material is to be placed at the culvert discharge. R-4 rip rap is to be placed around precast concrete end walls for stabilization. Prospective Bidders are urged to register with the designated website as a plan holder, even if Bidding Documents are obtained from a plan room or source other than the designated website in either electronic or paper format. The designated website will be updated periodically with addenda, lists of registered plan holders, reports, and other information relevant to submitting a Bid for the Project. All official notifications, addenda, and other Bidding Documents will be offered only through the designated website. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for Bidding Documents, including addenda, if any, obtained from sources other than the designated website. Instructions to Bidders Bid security in the form a Certified Check or Bid Bond shall be furnished with the bid in an amount not less than 10%. All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents are to be submitted via online. Telephone inquiries are unacceptable. For all further requirements regarding bid submittal, qualifications, procedures, and contract award, refer to the Instructions to Bidders that are included in the Bidding Documents. Statutory Requirements Bidders must comply with all State antibid-rigging regulations pertaining to work associated with this project, and will be required to submit an executed non-collusion affidavit with the bid. Bidders should refer to provisions of federal and state statutes, rules and regulations dealing with the prevention of environmental pollution and preservation of public natural resources that affect the project, pursuant to Act No. 247 of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, approved October 26, 1972. Instructions to Bidders Bid security in the form a Certified Check or Bid Bond shall be furnished with the bid in an amount not less than 10%. Check project value This Project falls under The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania enacted Act 141 of 2022 , known as the Public Works Employment Verification Act ('the Act') which requires all public work contractors and subcontractors to utilize the Federal Government's E-Verify system to ensure that all employees performing work on public work projects are authorized to work in the United States. All Bidders are required to submit a Public Works Employment Verification Form as a precondition for the Contract Award. All bids shall be irrevocable for 60 days after the bid opening date as provided by the Act of November 26, 1978 (P.L. 1309, No. 317), as amended by the Act of December 12, 1994 (P.L. 1042, No. 142). Derry Township reserves the right to waive any defects, errors, omissions, mistakes, informalities, to accept any bid or combination of bids that are deemed to be in the best interest of Derry Township, and to reject any or all proposals. Estimated Contract Value: $116,000 - $142,000 *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
