Renovation of an educational facility in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
May 1, 2026 Project Award (estimated). 1.2.1 Reference SPO#1: - Which is comprised of supplying & installing an equivalent light fixture package from Lithonia Lighting, as well as equivalent Acuity nLight lighting controls, sensors, and relay package. 1.2.2 This Contractor shall provide all labour, materials and equipment to complete all of the removals, modifications, relocations, and additions of Electrical work associated with these renovations and lighting upgrades; - all as shown on the Drawings and/or as specified herein; which includes but is not necessarily limited to, the work indicated in the following paragraphs. 1.2.3 Completely remove existing old HID lighting in the 'A'-Wing Gymnasium A1260, and supply & install new LED gymnasium lighting. Reuse existing gym lighting circuits to feed new LED lighting. 1.2.4 Modify existing Gymnasium T-bar ceiling grid as required to accommodate new LED lighting. Provide new replacement acoustic ceiling tiles as required, at former old gym light fixture locations. 1.2.5 This Contractor to relocate two recessed Gymnasium P.A. speakers, further south to next ceiling tile, to accommodate new Gymnasium LED light fixtures, as indicated on drawings. 1.2.6 Completely remove existing old Stage (Exercise Equipment A1261) track lighting, Stage incandescent lighting, and Stage fluorescent lighting c/w associated suspension provisions; and supply & install new LED lighting. Reuse existing Stage lighting circuit to feed new LED lighting. 1.2.7 Completely remove existing old redundant 125A - 120/208V - 3Phase - 4 Wire, Stage Lighting (Autotrol) Dimming Control System Panel, located in Storage Room in southwest corner of the Stage. Remove all associated Stage Dimming System conduit & wiring. Relocate the 200A/3P rated disconnect switch to adjacent wall in the Storage Room, and leave for future power feed. 1.2.8 Completely remove existing surface mounted old Corridor A1290 fluorescent lighting, and supply & install new surface mounted LED lighting. Reuse existing Corridor lighting circuit to feed new LED lighting. 1.2.9 Completely remove existing surface mounted old Gym Equipment Storage Room A1161 fluorescent lighting, and supply & install new surface mounted LED lighting. Reuse existing lighting circuit to feed new LED lighting. 1.2.10 Completely remove existing surface mounted old Laundry/Storage Room A1204 fluorescent lighting, and supply & install new surface mounted LED lighting to suit new layout. Reuse existing lighting circuit to feed new LED lighting. 1.2.11 Touch-up existing drywall ceiling paint finish as required, particularly if new replacement light fixture does not completely cover up old light fixture location. 1.2.12 Completely remove existing recessed old fluorescent lighting for the two Office Area Corridors and Storage Room A1284, and supply & install new recessed troffer LED lighting. Reuse existing lighting circuits to feed new LED lighting, and to suit new layouts. 1.2.13 Completely remove existing recessed old fluorescent lighting for the five (5 only) Offices, and supply & install new recessed troffer LED lighting. Reuse existing Office lighting circuits to feed new LED lighting. 1.2.14 Provide new acoustical ceiling tiles in T-Bar ceilings (tiles to match existing ~ review/verify on site) all to suit new lighting layouts, and/or at former old light fixture locations, as required. 1.2.15 Remove all redundant wiring & power feeds associated with these renovations and lighting upgrades, all back to source, and label respective circuit breaker as SPARE. 1.2.16 Reuse existing 1-gang light switch outlet boxes to suit new lighting controls. All other redundant light switch outlet boxes that are not reused, shall be terminated with new blank coverplates. 1.2.17 Remove redundant lighting control switches & dimmers, and revise/modify to suit new proposed lighting control layouts. 1.2.18 Supply & install required relays, power packs, and wiring; as required to suit new proposed lighting control layouts. 1.2.19 Modify wiring and light fixture control as required, in order to accommodate the indicated "On 24 Hours ~ Security Light Fixtures". 1.2.20 Provide all required new circuit breakers, wiring, grounding/bonding systems, conduit/outlet box systems and accessories; all as outlined on the Drawings, and/or as specified herein. 1.2.21 Supply & install P-Touch labelling for all reused or modified power feeds. Indicate both electrical panel and circuit feed. 1.2.22 Supply & install new type-written legends, for any modified existing electrical panels. Insert a copy of the panel legends in the Project Data Booklets. 1.2.23 All wiring & conduit work to be run true & parallel to building lines. As applicable, utilize existing conduit & wiring management systems, or provide new that are similar to existing. 1.2.24 If any power outages are required, Contractor to ensure that power outages are to be kept to an absolute minimum, and shall be coordinated with the Owner in advance. Contractor to make allowance for power outage(s) to occur during 'after hours', Night Shift, or weekends. In addition, this contractor shall make sure that all existing equipment returns to normal function (reenergizes) after power outage. 1.2.25 Any cutting and patching of all openings shall be by respective Section. Sealing of walls, floors, ceilings shall be pre-formed with respective materials and approved firestopping Systems suitable for the penetration. Penetration through fire rated assemblies, shall be sealed with ULC Listed Materials and Systems for the application, all as per Consultant, O.B.C., and local Inspection Department approval. 1.2.25.1 Acceptable Product: 3M Firemaster (Thermal Ceramics) Listed Products and Systems suitable for the application; or Hilti Firestopping Systems; or equivalent. 1.2.25.2 Each Section shall submit Shop Drawings of products and methods of all 'Firestopping Products' to be used, and respective approved "Firestop System(s)", which will be used per application. It is preferred that the same firestopping product will be used consistently throughout the building, by all Sections and General Contractor. 1.2.1 Reference SPO#1: - Which is comprised of supplying & installing an equivalent light fixture package from Lithonia Lighting, as well as equivalent Acuity nLight lighting controls, sensors, and relay package. 1.2.2 Disconnect & Remove existing old interior light fixtures, c/w associated wiring, EMT conduit and controls; and all as indicated on drawings. 1.2.3 Supply & Install all new interior LED light fixtures c/w associated wiring, EMT conduit and controls; all as indicated on drawings, and as described within the following Section. 1.2.4 Rework and reuse existing lighting circuits to feed new interior LED lighting. 1.2.5 Contractor to re-label existing electrical panel legends, and provide new type-written electrical panel directories, following all lighting removals & modifications. 1.2.6 Photometric Layouts: 1.2.6.1 Submit Photometric drawing layouts of all interior lighting systems, showing 'footcandle' values of lighting within the AutoCad floor plans, and the site plan. AutoCad drawings will be provided by Consultant upon request.
