North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission requests letters of interest for the renovation and expansion of the Caswell Shooting Range. The project includes construction of a new office and classroom building and renovation and expansion of the existing shooting range. The range offices will be used for staff to complete reports, check-in customers, provide safety training, and hold classroom training. Renovations are intended to increase the range's capacity to serve the public and will include covered shooting lanes, new bullet baffle recovery, and electrical shooting systems. Selection of designers will be based on ten criteria: specialized or appropriate expertise, past performance on similar projects, adequate staff and proposed design or consultant team, current workload and awarded State projects, proposed design approach, recent experience with project costs and schedules, construction administration capabilities, proximity to and familiarity with the project area, record of successfully completed projects without major legal or technical problems, and other appropriate factors. Proposing firms must submit three copies of a Letter of Interest and three copies of the current Standard Form 254 (SF 254). The package should not include notebooks, binders, tabs, or clips, and must be formatted as 8-1/2" x 11" pages stapled in the upper left-hand corner. The Letter of Interest should not exceed ten single-sided pages or five double-sided pages plus the SF 254. E-mail and fax submittals will not be accepted. The proposing firm must be properly licensed to practice Architecture, Engineering, or Landscape Architecture in North Carolina.
