In general, the work consists of: construction or reconstruction of asphalt roads, access drives and parking lots, gravel trails, and culverts at 4 DNR properties in Northwest Wisconsin. This project is needed because the existing roads, access driveways, parking lots, trails and culverts have reached the end of their life. The degraded facilities are causing safety hazards, damaging equipment, and deterring the public from visiting the properties. The additional new facilities will address existing safety hazards. The scope of work at each site is as follows: Interstate State Park Replacing pavement on the main road through the park Spot locations with rock and marsh removals under the road Installation of milled asphalt as base course Addressing drainage issues at parking areas Red Cedar River Trail Replace single culvert with structural steel plate arch pipe Chippewa River State Trail Pulverize and relay existing trail surface Add 3" limestone shavings Relocate approximately 5,800 LF of trail Add signing to alert trail users of new trail route Add drainage culverts as needed Lake Wissota State Park Install ADA compliant trail adjacent to main park road Bidders shall bring inadequacies, omissions or conflicts to the Architect/Engineer's attention at least ten (10) days before MEP bidding commences.
