Sealed bids are requested for the construction of Additions and Alterations to the Pequea Valley D.A.O. and Fitness Center, located at 4033 East Newport Road, Kinzers, Pennsylvania 17535. Bids must be submitted in sealed envelopes clearly marked with the project name and the bidder's name. Late bids will be returned unopened. Bidding documents are available in hard copy or .pdf electronic format by written request. All questions regarding contract documents, technical sections, legal documents, and bid submission must be directed in writing to the designated email address. A Pre-Bid Conference will be held at the stated location and time. The Project consists of Construction of a renovation and addition project with and associated parking, drives, tennis courts and athletic fields as well as the demolition of existing structures within the area of work. The area of work is identified as the 'Phase Limit Line' on civil drawings C100 and C703. Furthermore, the Project includes construction of the new Dugouts and Field Houses, independent structures located at the new baseball field and walking path. For Pennsylvania Department of Education accounting purposes only, costs for construction of the Grounds Building portion of the Work shall be indicated separately on the Bid Form. B. Generally, the new construction consists of load bearing masonry, structuralsteel columns, steel joists and metal deck, masonry veneer, exterior metal wall panels, standing seam metal roofing, mechanically attached EPDM membrane roofing, aluminum windows, storefront and curtain wall systems, casework and interior finishes along with the specified mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems. C. Contractorsshallsequence construction such that the existing water,sewer and electric remain in operation until the new facilities for power and water are installed. If required, contractors are responsible for providing temporary connections to maintain water and sewer service to the existing high school until a transition to utilities can be made. Once the transitions have been made full demolition of the existing high school wing can be completed.
