** As of 03/02/2026 project has been awarded to TUNCHEZ GROUP LLC. IN THE AMOUNT OF $240,000.** The purpose of this Request for Proposals (RFP) is to construct a gable boat house roof and install a boat lift at Harbor Master's office in Conn Brown Harbor. This is a request forthe "Construction of Gable Boat House Roof and Installation of Boat Lift at Harbor Master's Office" project. The selected contractor shall provide all labor, materials, and equipment for: Construct: R Panel Gable Boat House Roof with appropriate pilings. (Minimum size 44' X 30'), with Hoist capabilities (Min 500lb capacity to remove fire pump from front of boat) with appropriate windstorm certificates and engineered drawings. Construction shall use durable, marine-grade materials. The boat house should tie in as applicable to the existing docks, but not physically attach to the concrete bulkhead. Install: A boat lift at the Harbor Master's Office at the existing dock. This boat lift should be a Golden 10K Deluxe boat lift with a 750 Series Power Drive System, or a similar model. (If a different variation of lift will be used, it must be explained on the Proposal Fee Schedule.) The lift will primarily be used for a 23' Bay boat. Engineering: Must include Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) Windstorm certification (typically 130-150 mph). Installation: Secure mounting to existing dock structures with minimal disruptions to ongoing harbor operations. Compliance: Ensuring all work meets USACE permitting requirements and ADA compliance where applicable. It is the City's preference to award the contract to one vendor, but the City reserves the right to choose secondary vendors also. An RFP allows for price negotiations after the bid opening, so City of Aransas Pass has chosen this bid format as a way of protecting vendors against future price increases. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informalities in the procedures, or to cancel the solicitation if it is in the best interest of the City. The City shall have the right to reject any bid from a contractor determined by the City at its discretion, to be not responsible or not qualified to perform the bid specifications. A determination that a contractor is not responsible may be made solely on the basis of previous failure to perform properly or to complete contracts. This RFP is not to be construed as a commitment of any kind; nor does it commit the City to pay for any costs incurred in the preparation or submission of a bid or for any other costs incurred prior to the execution of a formal contract. With Bid Submission, all BIDDER's must submit a bid bond for an amount equal to not less than 5% of the total price of the project. Upon execution of contract, prior to work beginning, the CONTRACTOR awarded this project will provide a performance and payment bond for 100% of the contract price. The CONTRACTOR shall keep and maintain during the term of this CONTRACT, a comprehensive general liability policy, with the CITY named as Additional Named Insured, with limits of: 1. Workers' Compensation and employer'sliability in amountsrequired by law; 2. Commercial General Liability of not less than $1,000,000.00 (combined single limit bodily injury and property damage per occurrence). ** bid date info : Bidsshall be made on the forms provided by the City or copy thereof and shall be signed by the submitter with signature in full. Submissions must include 3 hard copies of the proposal, Conflict of Interest Questionnaire, and Noncollusion Affidavit. Sealed bids must be marked appropriately to ensure they are directed to the correct department.
