This project generally consists of the water main replacement, storm sewer installation, and PCC reconstruction of Entry Drive, William Street, Judson Street, James Street, and Bernice Drive. The work includes approximately 5,140 LF of DI water main (4"-12" dia.), 2,465 LF of RCP storm sewer (12"-48" dia.), 15,235 SQ YD of 10" PCC pavement, 24,920 SQ YD of 4"-12" aggregate bases, 40,360 SQ FT of 5"-10" PCC sidewalk, 8,010 LF of curb and gutter, 5,980 SQ YD of sodding, minor sanitary sewer work, and all related appurtenances and accessories necessary to complete the work. All proposals shall be sealed in an envelope addressed to the Village of Bensenville, attention Village Clerk. The name, address, and phone number of the bidder and the name of the project must also appear on the outside of the envelope. Proposals must be submitted on the forms provided by the Engineer. Contractors must purchase bid documents and be shown on the Bidder's Planholder List in order to bid. Bids received from contractors not shown on the Bidder's Planholder List may be rejected. A certified check/bank draft or bid bond in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the bid shall be submitted with each proposal as a guarantee. A Contract Bond equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the amount of the bid with approved sureties must be furnished by the successful bidder. Contractors must pay not less than the prevailing wage rates established by the United States and State of Illinois Departments of Labor. Contractors and subcontractors must be IDOT pre-qualified in their respective disciplines.
