Demolition for a municipal facility in Countryside, Illinois. Completed plans call for the demolition of a municipal facility.
The proposed work consists of the demolition and disposal of two former municipal buildings and four architectural building mocks, asbestos abatement, sanitary sewer service disconnections, water service disconnections, and all other appurtenant work as required at 5550 East Avenue. All applicable work will be in conformance with the "Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction," dated January 1, 2022. Only qualified contractors with satisfactory proof of similar past work may receive bid documents and submit bids. Bidders may be required to submit a list of references documenting previous similar projects. All bids must be accompanied by a bid bond or a bank cashier's check, bank draft, or certified check for not less than five percent of the total bid amount. No bid may be withdrawn after opening without consent for forty-five days. The contractor must furnish a performance bond in the full amount of the contract. All change orders must be approved by the City Council or Administrator, and the contractor must pay prevailing wages in accordance with all applicable laws. There will be an inspection opportunity for the buildings to be demolished. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to accept the bid deemed most favorable to the City. .
