OKDOT - 142 - Resurface (Asphalt) and Pavement Rehabilitation (Concrete) - US-412 Project No. SSR-249C(096)SR, 35129(04)C, 35127(04)C This section establishes procedures for determining acceptability and pay adjustments as they relate to smoothness requirements of pavements and bridge decks. The equipment and testing applicable to this section shall be provided and/or operated by the party or parties specified in Appendix A of this provision. Except as noted herein, these special provisions apply to all types of Portland cement and asphalt concrete pavements, as well as bridge decks constructed as part of this contract, or as specified on the plans. This provision establishes procedures for determining acceptability and pay adjustments as they relate to smoothness requirements of pavements and bridge decks. The equipment and testing applicable to this section shall be provided and/or operated by the party, or parties, specified in Appendix A of this provision. Except as noted herein, these special provisions apply to all types of Portland cement and asphalt concrete pavements, as well as bridge decks and approach slabs constructed as part of this contract, or as specified on the plans. Mainline pavement is defined as driving lanesthat are permanent. This provision will use a International Roughness Index (IRI) per segment, as determined by the latest version of the FHWA's software, ProVAL. A pavementsegment is defined as a continuous area of finished pavement, 0.1 mile in length and one (1) lane in width. A partial segment may result from an interruption of the continuous pavement surface. An Area of Localized Roughness (ALR) is a length of pavement with localized roughness that exceeds the corresponding threshold value. Localized roughness is based on a continuous IRI computed over a 25-foot distance. ALR is determined by the latest version of FHWA's software, ProVAL. This work consists of providing and placing reflectorized and non-reflectorized plural-component pavement markings on asphalt concrete (AC) and portland cement concrete (PCC) pavement surfaces. Plural-component pavement markings includes multiple varieties of both fast setting and slow setting hybridized epoxies, modified urethanes/polyacrylates, methylmethacrylates(MMA), polyurea, or any other applicable plural-component materials approved by the Department.
