Renovation of a theater / auditorium in Montmagny, Quebec. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a theater / auditorium.
Modernization of the Edwin-Bélanger room, located at the Louis-Jacques-Casault high school in Montmagny. The project aims to transform the existing venue to meet modern professional standards: - Increased capacity: The number of seats will increase from 550 to 700. - Technical infrastructure: Raising the stage roof to accommodate larger sets, adding technical storage space, and bringing the facilities up to code. - Reception areas: Complete reconfiguration of the lobby to enhance the audience experience and allow for larger events. TIMELINE: The project is preliminary and benefits from a massive investment, including a $14.5 million grant from the Ministry of Culture and Communications. In December 2025, the Government of Quebec allocated an additional $950,000 through the Fonds régions et ruralité (Regions and Rurality Fund) to support modernization and expansion. Scope of work and timelines of the project development are being finalized.
