The work generally consists of the installation of 265 linear feet of 10” Steel Casing, Jack and Bore, Type 2, 1,450 linear feet of 6” PVC CL200 Water Main, 3 Connections to Existing Water Main, 35 linear feet of 1” Service Tubing, and other miscellaneous appurtenances. Bids must be submitted in the Contract Specification book issued by the Engineer in a sealed envelope bearing the name of the Bidder, Bidder's license number, address, and name of the project. All nonresident contractors must submit evidence of a current Alabama General Contractor's License, proper registration with the Alabama Secretary of State as a foreign corporation, and a Certificate of Good Standing from the Alabama Department of Revenue. Each bidder must deposit with the bid security in the amount, form, and subject to the conditions provided in the Information for Bidders. The successful bidder will be required to submit 100% performance and payment bonds. All bidders must comply with requirements of the Contractor's Licensing law of Alabama and be certified for the type of work. Compliance with Executive Order Number 11246, Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Davis-Bacon Act, the Anti-Kickback Act, and the Contract Workhours Act is required. Guarantee is required with each bid for at least 5% of the amount of the bid filed in the form of a certified check, Bid Bond, or irrevocable Letter of Credit acceptable to the owner. Bid Bonds must include certification that the bonding company is listed in Circular 570 of the U.S. Treasury Department, with the name, address, telephone number, and contact person for the bonding company included. The attention of bidders is called to the requirements regarding employment conditions and minimum wage rates, Section 3, Segregated Facilities, Section 109, and E.O. 11246. No bidder may withdraw a bid within 60 days after bid opening. The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids. Documents posted on this website are not to be used for bidding.
