Reference Number 0000410186 Mott Community College is seeking a qualified contractor to repair, drain, replace and insulate the victaulic couplers, as well as 60' 1 1/4 " galvanized pipe at each end of mains at the Regional Technology Center (RTC, Second (2nd) Floor, Hallway 2100, located at our main campus, 1401 East Court Street, Flint, MI 48503. Contractor must have and be able to demonstrate a minimum of five (5) years of successful experience completing the same or similar projects and/or scopes of work. 2. Contractor will assign a competent project manager who has full authority to act for the Contractor and who will be MCC's primary point of contact and coordination during the execution of the project. 3. Contractor to supply parts and labor 3.1. Isolate and drain the system (PRICE IS TO INCLUDE ISOLATING AND DRAINING OF SYSTEM); 3.2. Furnish and replace approximately (30) 2-1/2" grooved Victaulic couplings on all fitting and expansion joints; 3.3. Furnish and replace approximately (10) 2" grooved Victaulic couplings on fittings; 3.4. Replace (4) existing 2-1/2" grooved butterfly valves with new equivalent valves; 3.5. Demo approximately 60' of 1-14" galvanized pipe at end of mains; 3.6. Furnish and install approximately 60' of sch. 40 threaded carbon steel pipe in place of existing galvanized pipe; 3.7. This piping serves the VAV boxes on the second floor in this area; 3.8. Repair and replace insulation where couplings or piping have been repaired/replaced; 3.9. Paint all new insulation flat black to match existing insulation; 3.10. A set of valves will need to be installed on the end of the run of the pipe for bleeding the mains and future repairs; 3.11. Refill the system. The piping will need to be checked for leaks and returned to service. 4. Contractor should include all supervision, labor, materials, tools, permits and equipment required for this project 5. Traditional hours of work are Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM E.S.T. Contractors who need to operate outside of this period must receive prior approval from the Project Manager at least twenty-four hours in advance to allow for the notification of the appropriate personnel at MCC. The Project Manager must be notified in advance if there are any additional costs associated with a request to work outside of traditional work hours. 6. The Contractor, its subcontractors, and agents will abide by all federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations related to fair labor practices, prohibiting discrimination in employment, and controlling workplace safety. 7. To safeguard the health and well-being of everyone on-site, it is imperative that a thorough check for asbestos is conducted before any work begins. This check will help MCC mitigate any potential risks associated with asbestos exposure. Any findings should be presented to the Owner's Representative immediately in writing.
