Renovation of a mixed-use development in Maple City, Michigan. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
All contractors bidding on work must be bondable and must include in their bid the cost for furnishing a Co-Obligee Labor and Material Payment Bond and a Co-Obligee Performance Bond. On the proposal form the contractor will identify a cost to be deducted from their bid should bonds not be required. A. This section is intended for the Contractor's general information only and is not intended to be a complete list of the work intended for this project. B. The BASE BID scope of work is indicated on the drawings and by the requirements of each section. C. Project Description 1. The BASE BID includes roof recovery and/or full replacement work on roofs designated on drawings. 2. New roof drain connections to existing system to be completed by others. A. Work Included 1. Make all submittals as required by the contract documents and revise and resubmit as necessary to establish compliance with the specified requirements. B. Related Work Described Elsewhere 1. Additional requirements for submittals not listed in this section are described in pertinent other sections of these specifications. A. Provide all labor, material, equipment, and tools as required to prepare the existing roofing system for reroofing as specified in this Section. B. Provide for the proper disposal of all existing materials designated to be removed. Provide approved trash receptacles in areas designated by the Owner's Representative. C. Coordinate the roof preparation work with the new roofing work in such a manner as to keep the new insulation and roofing materials, building, and building interior absolutely clean, dry and watertight. A. Work included: Removal of damaged turf and plantings and replacement of materials damaged by the Contractor during the performance of Work is included in this Section. B. Repair of damaged concrete, damaged by the contractor during the performance of the Work. C. Repair of damaged hot mix asphalt paving, damaged by the contractor during the performance of the Work. [NOTE: Contractor is expected to protect the concrete and asphalt paving from damage from construction traffic and materials.] A. Work included includes localized removal and replacement of existing localized deteriorated gypsum roof deck. 1. Base Bid shall include: a.) Removal and replacement of gypsum deck due to deterioration. 2. Refer to Bid Form for quantities that shall be included as part of the Base Bid. A unit price is to be provided per square foot to provide for an Add or Deduct. A. Work includes preparing and prime painting rusted steel deck surfaces and repairing localized areas of deck with flat stock sheet metal, as well as possible localized removal and replacement of the steel deck. 1. Base Bid shall include: a.) Prepare and prime paint rusted steel deck surfaces. b.) Repair of localized areas of deck with flat stock sheet metal. c.) Removal and replacement of steel deck due to rusting and deterioration. 2. Refer to Summary of Work for quantities that shall be included as part of the Base Bid. A unit price is to be provided per square foot to provide for an Add or Deduct. A. Work Included: Installation of all wood blocking, wood shims, and wood plank deck repair as indicated on the drawings. Some of this work shall be performed on a unit price basis. B. Related Work Described Elsewhere 1. Section 02050 - Roof Demolition 2. Section 07532 - PVC Roofing 3. Section 07920 - Sealants and Caulking
