Project Scope: Repair and recoating of corroded structural members on ramps and repairs to railings and other items. Deadline for Questions: February 3, 2026 11:00 am Questions, clarifications, and requests for additional information regarding the Proposal Documents must be submitted in writing, via email, to Karen Barber at kbarber@nrgpark.com no later than the date and time Construction on Site: March 30 through May 8, 2026 NRG Park is the premier sports, convention, tradeshow/consumer show and entertainment complex located in Harris County, specifically Houston's South Main corridor district, the cultural center and urban hub of Houston. The 350-acre sports and entertainment complex hosts over 500 events and 5.5 million guests a year. NRG Park is owned by Harris County, administrated by Harris County Sports & Convention Corporation (HCSCC) and managed by SMG, a Pennsylvania general partnership. NRG Park includes NRG Arena, NRG Center, NRG Stadium and NRG Astrodome and is home to the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo ("Rodeo") and the NFL's Houston Texans ("Texans"). HCSCC will contract with a contractor meeting the requirements for performance of the work described in this Request for Proposal. A Mandatory Site visit will take place as stated above. Instructions will be provided upon receipt of an email confirming attendance. Emails containing the names of attendees should be sent to Karen Barber at kbarber@nrgpark.com two business days prior to the mandatory site visit date mentioned above Work includes removal of rust and corrosion, recoating and minor repairs as described below to the four exterior ramps of NRG Stadium. The types of repairs are shown in photos of Exhibit B and include the following. Item 1 Corrosion at edge closure angles at sides and platforms of ramp slabs. Remove sealant between closure angle and concrete for length of repair. Remove corrosion to bare metal, prime and recoat. Reseal at angle/slab joint. Alternate Solution: Review option for partial preparation of condition to allow for application of sealant tape to cover joint. Provide minimum lap of 3/4 " on horizontal and vertical face to obtain adequate contact for adhesion to both surfaces. Extend sealant tape minimum 6" beyond each end of corrosion. Acceptable products include the following: a) Dow - 1,2,3 Seal System secured with 791 or 795 silicone sealant b) Sika - Silbridge 300 with Sikasil WS - 295 c) Tremco - Comparable system Submit product info and confirmation of acceptability for application. Item 2 Corrosion and rust at ramp railings and balusters (balustrade) a) If rust is superficial, remove by means of mechanical device or removal accessories, check condition of surface and determine if additional action is required, apply spot cold galvanizing where required. b) If rust has damaged galvanizing, remove corrosion and repair with cold galvanizing. Review conditions under item 3 to determine if replacement is better option. Item 3 Damaged railings Straighten and re-weld balustrade components. Perform corrosion repairs per item 2 above. Where railings and components are too severely damaged for straightening, replace in kind with new members and weld in place to match existing. Treat welded connections with cold galvanizing. Item 4 Rust and corrosion at juncture of ramp support columns and ramp edge beams. Review condition to determine if corrosion has significantly affected member integrity. If no structural issues are exhibited (to be discussed with Owner) then remove existing corrosion, prime and paint. Inspect condition of any adjacent sealants and replace any damage sealants as needed. Item 5 Deck corrosion repairs. Review condition and determine if corrosion is superficial or requires installation of patch of decking with matching profile. a) If superficial, remove existing corrosion and recoat with cold galvanizing. b) If decking has corroded through, install deck corrosion repair patch with matching profile not less than one corrugation beyond width each side and 8" beyond length each direction and weld in place. Item 6 Flange edge, structural member seams, structural member faces. Remove corrosion entire length, prime and recoat. Item 7 Escalator drain lines. Remove rust and corrosion and prepare, prime and paint. Item 8 Base plate repairs. Remove corrosion and recoat. Item 9 Concrete spalls Remove existing spalls and clean area. Patch with non-shrink epoxy or repair mortar asrecommended for application. Item 10 Coating to be used is prime coat and finish coat of color matching existing. Paint to be used is specified in Exhibit D. Contractor is responsible for proper preparation prior to recoating, including confirmation of compatibility with existing materials. Work to be performed on a unit cost basis per costs provided in Proposal Form. Owner will review with selected contractor to confirm scope of work required including review of conditions identified as work proceeds. HUB- 11.20%
