The Town of Bennington is requesting bids for the construction of the Town of Bennington Water Resources Division South End Upgrades DWSRF RF3-490-3.0 project. The work includes constructing a water main line along Weeks Street, Putnam Street, Stonehedge Drive, Jefferson Heights, Merson Street, Crescent Boulevard, and Margaret Lane. The work scope includes trenching, removal of existing asphalt and subbase, installation of water mains, thrust blocks, hydrants, curb stops, installation of roadway base and pavement, and associated site work in accordance with the contract plans and specifications. Bids are requested for general construction. Prospective bidders should register as plan holders on the designated website, from which all documents, addenda, and notifications will be distributed. Printed copies of bidding documents will not be provided. A pre-bid conference will be held and attendance is encouraged but not required. Bidders must refer to the Instructions to Bidders for all requirements concerning bid submittal, qualifications, procedures, and contract award. This project is funded in part through the Vermont Drinking and/or Clean Water State Revolving Fund and is subject to bid security, Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) requirements, 100% performance and payment bonds, American Iron and Steel (AIS) provisions, Davis-Bacon Act federal wage rates, Build America, Buy America Act (BABAA) requirements, prohibition on certain telecommunications and video surveillance equipment, and project signage requirements.
