The work includes, but is not limited to, the renovation of the Stuart Rehab Building. Bids are for General Construction, Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing. A nonrefundable check of $20 is required for plans to be shipped. Bids must be accompanied by bid security payable to the Owner in an amount equal to at least 5% of the highest total amount including Add Alternates, in the form of a Certified Check, Cashier's Check, or a bid bond. Bid Security must be in a separate envelope with the sealed bid and will be forfeited as liquidated damages if the bidder fails to enter into a contract and furnish a bond within ten days after acceptance. The successful Bidder must furnish and pay for satisfactory Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond in the amount of 100% of the Contract Price. The Owner reserves the right to request qualification forms and to reject any or all proposals, waive technicalities or irregularities, and accept any bid that best serves the interests of the Owner. A preference is given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the State of Iowa.
