Renovation of a detention facility in Sterling Heights, Michigan. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 9,900-square-foot detention facility.

Reference Number 0000410302 The City of Sterling Heights will receive single prime sealed bids for the Police Department Renovations Project. This project includes: Interior alternation work within the designated portions of the building as well as some minor exterior improvements. Renovations include selective demolition and reconstruction of existing partitions, doors, windows, glazing, ceilings, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, interior finishes, and other related items within portions of the lower level and second floor. Total renovation area is approximately 9,900 SF The Police Department will remain operational while the renovations are underway, so close coordination with the Police Department is a must. The project will need to be completed in phases. Refer to proposed conceptual phasing plans included in the construction document set. Contractor may suggest alternative phasing as long as the Police Department approves. No oral or telegraphic proposals or modifications will be considered. Submit with each bid, a certified check or acceptable bid bond payable to the City of Sterling Heights, in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total bid. Electronic copies of bid bonds or certified checks must be uploaded with electronic bid submission. If submitting a certified check, the Check must be delivered in to the City of Sterling Heights Clerk's Office, no later than the bid deadline. Bids may not be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the scheduled time of opening bids, without the consent of the Owner. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids received and to waive any formalities in regard thereto. In addition, the City reserves the right to evaluate bids on any basis determined by the City to be in the best interest of the City and to consider alternate bids if the low bidder(s) does not comply with the project requirements or are otherwise determined to be unqualified.
