Renovation of a conference / convention center in Andalusia, Alabama. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 20,854-square-foot conference / convention center; and 14,910-square-foot conference / convention center.
This project will include preparation of the existing 4-ply built-up roof system with aluminum coating, repair of existing lightweight concrete roof decking where deteriorated, installation of new tapered insulation crickets at select locations, new reinforced liquid coating system, new roof deck venting, new sheet metal trim and accessories, and removal of the existing mansard panel (ACM) and installation of new framing and new metal mansard panel. Dixon Center Performing Arts: approximately 20,854 SF. Bishop Student Center: approximately 14,910 SF. A cashier's check or bid bond in an amount not less than five percent of the amount of the bid, but in no event more than $10,000, must accompany the bidder's proposal. Performance and Payment Bonds and evidence of insurance required in the bid documents will be required at the signing of the Contract. Bids must be submitted on proposal forms furnished by the Architect or copies thereof. All bidders bidding in amounts exceeding that established by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors must be licensed under the provisions of Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975 and must show evidence of license before bidding. The bidder shall show such evidence by clearly displaying their current license number on the outside of the sealed envelope in which the proposal is delivered. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors if, in the Owner's judgement, the best interests of the Owner will thereby be promoted. The successful bidder will provide proof of enrollment in the Federal E-Verify Program and in compliance with the Beason-Hammon Alabama Taxpayer & Citizen Protection Act (Act 2011-535). Only General Contractors and Roofing Contractors who have been approved to bid pursuant to pre-qualification procedures and criteria established by the Owner will be eligible to bid for the Project. Any person or firm wishing to apply for pre-qualification may obtain a copy of the Owner's Pre-Qualification Application Requirements from the Architect. Applications for pre-qualification must be received by the Architect by 12:00 NOON CT on the date indicated, after which no further applications will be considered. The Owner will complete the pre-qualification process and name the general contractors who are approved to bid the Project by 12:00 NOON CT on the date indicated. The Owner reserves the right to modify or abandon this pre-qualification process at any time prior to its completion should the interests of the Owner appear to be promoted thereby. Pre-qualified bidders may obtain Bid Documents from the Architect. Upon request, documents will be available to be viewed online. Drawings and specifications may also be examined at the office of the Architect and ConstructConnect Plan Room. A Mandatory Pre-Bid Conference will be held at the project site. Attendance is MANDATORY for all pre-qualified General Contractor and Roofing Contractor bidders.
