Renovation of an educational facility in Hatfield, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The Town of Hatfield reserves the right to reject any or all bids, wholly or in part in accordance with M.G.L. Ch149. All bidding Requests for Information (RFIs) shall be submitted online by 02/09/2026 at 3:00PM EST for filed sub-bids and by 02/10/2026 at 2:00PM EST for general bids. The Project consists of but not limited to: B. The project scope consists of roofing replacement to the Hatfield Elementary School. The intent is to provide a sound roofing system that is leak free and weathertight. At project completion, Contractor shall provide a written guarantee that covers all defects in workmanship and materials for a period of two (2) years from date of acceptance, a roofing system manufacturer's thirty (30) year system warranty, and a asphalt shingle roofing manufacturer's fifty (5) year system warranty. General Bidders are to be DCAMM certified in Roofing (Prime). The Roofing Contractor shall be the General Contractor. The general scope of the construction work is as follows: Re-roofing of the existing flat roofing systems utilizing a "tear-off" application. A new adhered PVC roof membrane system (80-mil minimum thickness) is specified and detailed complete with a manufacturer's 30-year full system warranty. A new asphalt shingle roof system is specified and detailed complete with a manufacturer's 50-year full system warranty. C. Associated Repair Work Items include (A) Replace roof drain bowls and install drain markers; (B) Removal and replacement of roof hatch; (C) Installation of roof hatch safety railing and ladder up safety post; (D) Remove and replace deteriorated wood blocking; (E) Remove and replace deteriorated steel decking; (F) Wire brushing and painting of rusted steel decking; (G) Overlayment of rusted and deteriorated steel decking; (H) Install ballasted safety railings at certain location; (I) Temporary mechanical disconnects and reconnects; and (J) Temporary electrical disconnects and reconnects. D. The Contractor shall maintain proper supervision of the labor force for project duration. The General Contractor shall provide, for project duration, a competent full-time Project Superintendent who shall remain on site, full-time every workday. The Project Superintendent shall be responsible for providing full-time supervision of the labor force, including but not limited to his employees, his subcontractors, his material suppliers, and his equipment suppliers. His responsibilities shall also include general coordination and management of the job and his attendance is required at all project meetings. He shall not work as a foreman, mechanic, laborer, or tradesman, except with the written permission of the Engineer A. The work contemplated by the Contract Documents includes the Work of all trades required and all labor, equipment, materials and supervision necessary and incidental to the Work indicated. The work of this contract includes selective demolition and renovations of existing construction.
