Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in West Babylon, New York. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project; sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
The work consists of the following: At the Bergen Point Wastewater Treatment Plant, the existing Sludge Blending Tanks are being rehabilitated. The work includes a combination of installing stainless steel support beams, installing a protective corrosion-resistant coating inside the tanks, repairing spalled and deteriorated concrete, performing crack repairs, installing fiberreinforced column wraps, mechanical piping/valves/diffuser upgrades/replacements, etc. as shown and specified in the Contract Documents. The goal established by Suffolk County for minority business enterprise participation in all projects through either subcontracting or entering into a joint venture with minority/women business enterprises is a goal of twelve percent (12%). This project is a PLA project. The Project is to be bid as a single prime project. Bidders shall submit with their bids, a separate sealed list that names each subcontractor that the bidder will use to perform work on the contract, and the agreed-upon amount to be paid to each as applicable, for: (a) plumbing and gas fitting (i.e., Plumbing Work), (b) steam heating, hot water heating, ventilating and air conditioning apparatus (i.e., HVAC Work which includes fire sprinkler) and (c) electric wiring and standard illuminating fixtures (i.e., Electrical Work). The apparent low bidder's subcontract information will be opened and read aloud at the bid opening. Bids for this contract shall be submitted in a separate sealed envelope with the name of the contract clearly noted on the outside of the envelope. Bids shall be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total Base Bid, made payable to the Suffolk County Comptroller. This bid bond will be held as a guarantee that in the event the bid is accepted and contract awarded to the Bidder, the contract will be duly executed and properly secured. ** pre bid info : Please pass along the information about the pre-bid conference and walk through to other interested parties and post it to your business website(s). PPE is required to walk the site. If you fail to bring PPE to the Pre-Bid conference, you will not be allowed to walk the site.
