Sealed bids are requested from prequalified contractors for the North Mac Intermediate School Roof Replacement at 525 N. 3rd Street, Girard, Illinois 62640. The scope of work generally includes the removal of approximately 9,800 square feet of the existing roofing system and the installation of new insulation and roofing membrane, including a 3,800 square feet barrel vaulted roof. Construction is scheduled to begin promptly upon board approval and be substantially complete by August 7, 2026. Bids must be accompanied by a bid bond in the amount of 10% of the base bid. The successful bidder will be required to provide a surety performance bond and payment bond, each equal to 100% of the contract cost, within ten days after notice of acceptance. Surety must be from a U.S. Treasury backed company licensed in Illinois and acceptable to the owner. The contractor is responsible for bond premiums. Pre-qualification requirements: All general contractors intending to bid must submit to the architect a completed contractor's qualification statement (AIA Form A305), certificate of insurance with current limits, a resume of the proposed construction superintendent, and a list of completed projects of similar scope within the past five years, including project cost, work description, timeline, and owner and architect references.
