Question Deadline 02/19/2026 at 5:00 PM ET The last day for questions will be Email Carol Henley at purchasing@danvilleva.gov City Project Representative: Andrew Hall, Project Manager Email: hallak@danvilleva.gov Intent: The intent of this project is to furnish and install an upgraded protective netting system at American Legion Stadium in order to achieve full compliance with current Major League Baseball (MLB) and Professional Development League (PDL) safety standards governing spectator protection. The project shall provide for the removal of existing netting components, installation of new netting, support structures, and tensioning systems, and all associated work necessary to ensure that the netting coverage and height meet league-mandated requirements for safeguarding all occupied seating areas. The completed improvements are intended to enhance the safety, functionality, and regulatory compliance of the stadium for ongoing baseball operations and public use. 2.1 General Intent: The purpose of this project is to upgrade the protective netting system at American Legion Stadium to meet current MLB/PDL fan-safety requirements. The work includes the removal of existing netting, installation of new netting and support systems, installation of new poles, reuse of existing poles, and all coordination, protection, and cleanup necessary to deliver a complete and operational system. 2.2 Contractor Responsibilities: The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, engineering, transportation, and supervision required to perform the following: A. Pre-Construction Activities 1. Perform a site visit to assess stadium layout, existing poles, access, and staging needs. 2. Conduct full underground utility locates before any excavation. 3. Coordinate schedule and site access with the Owner. B. Demolition and Removal 1. Remove all existing netting, associated cabling, and hardware scheduled for replacement. 2. Protect existing poles designated for reuse. 3. Dispose of all removed materials off-site in accordance with local regulations. C. New Netting Installation 1. Install new protective netting extending from behind home plate to the end of the last spectator seating section on each baseline. 2. Netting shall maintain a consistent height across all seated spectator areas, regardless of dugout location D. Structural Support Poles 1. Install two (2) new galvanized steel support poles with engineered foundations. 2. Reuse existing poles where structurally sound and approved by the Owner and Engineer. E. Cable and Tensioning System 1. Install a complete cable system (top, intermediate, and bottom) with all hardware necessary for proper tensioning and performance. 2. Ensure netting is properly tensioned, free of sagging, and neatly presented. F. Coordination and Compliance 1. Submit shop drawings showing netting configuration, pole layout, and cable runs for approval. 2. Coordinate with the Owner and league representatives for compliance verification. G. Cleanup and Restoration 1. Remove all equipment, debris, and waste from the site. 2. Restore any disturbed areas to original condition. 3. Participate in a final walkthrough with the Owner.
