Renovation of an educational facility in Girard, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 13,600-square-foot educational facility.

Generally, the work includes removal of approximately 9,800 SF of existing roofing system and installation of new insulation and roofing membrane, including a 3,800 SF barrel vaulted roof. All bidders are advised that all work of this Contract shall be subject to all applicable laws of the State of Illinois and the United States of America, including but not limited to the Preference to Citizens (Illinois) on Public Works Projects Act and the Wages of Employees on Public Works (Prevailing Wage Act). Bids shall be accompanied by a bid bond in the amount of 10% of the Base Bid, made payable to the Board of Education, CUSD #34. The successful Bidder will be required to provide a Surety Performance Bond and Payment Bond, each equal to 100% of the Contract cost on prescribed forms within ten (10) days after notice of acceptance is issued by Owner. Surety on bond shall be by a duly authorized U. S. Treasury Backed company licensed to do business in the State of Illinois, acceptable to Owner. The Contractor shall pay the premiums for these bonds. The Board of Education, CUSD #34 reserves the right to reject any or all bids and reserves the right to waive any irregularity in bidding, which in their considered opinion is warranted. No bid shall be withdrawn for sixty (60) days after opening of bids. All General Contractors planning to bid shall submit a completed Contractor's Qualification Statement (AIA Form A305), Certificate of Insurance with contractor's current limits, proposed construction superintendent's resume, and list of completed projects of similar scope within the past 5 years including project cost, description of work, timeline, and Owner and Architect references. All Bidders shall submit and enclose with their bid a notarized certification that the Contractor is not barred from bidding on the Contract as a result of a violation of either Section 33 E-3 or 33 E-4 of Article 33E, Public Act 85-1295 (Senate Bill 2002) effective January 1, 1989. Bids not accompanied by a bid bond will be rejected.
