The City of Plainview is soliciting bids for the application of a sealcoat treatment of approximately 72,200 square yards of streets. The City and the Contractor will both provide portions of the aggregate for the streets, as shown in the contract documents. A cashier's check, certified check or acceptable bidder's bond, payable to the Owner in an amount equal to not less than five percent of the bid submitted, must accompany each bid as guarantee that, if awarded the contract, the Bidder will, within fifteen days after receipt of Contract Documents, enter into a contract with the Owner and will execute bonds on the forms provided in the Contract Documents. Performance and Payment bonds shall be set forth in the Contract Documents. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informalities in the bidding. In case of ambiguity or lack of clearness, the Owner reserves the right to adopt such interpretations as may be most advantageous or to reject the bid as informal. No bid may be withdrawn until the expiration of 60 days from the bid opening date. QA date - 2-23-2026 All questions about the meaning or intent of the Contract Documents shall be submitted to the Engineer in writing. Replies will be issued by Addenda to all parties recorded by Engineer as having received the bidding documents. Bidders should contact the Engineer not less than two days before the bid opening to insure that they have all addenda that may affect bidding. Questions received less than two days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered.
