As of March 23, 2026, the project was awarded to Wagner Paving, Inc., with an awarded amount of $207,517.50. Each bid must be accompanied by a cashier's check or certified check from a responsible bank or trust company, payable to the Preble County Commissioners, or a bid bond acknowledged by the bidder and a qualified surety company. The cashier's or certified check must be 10% of the bid. The bid bond must be for 100% of the bid, including the total of the base bid and any alternates, as per ORC requirements. Retainage of 8% will be withheld for the first 50% of the labor completed; retainage will be released upon approval and completion. If the bid is accepted, the contractor must add Preble County to its insurance policy as an additional insured. The successful bidder must furnish a performance bond for the total amount of the project. The project must use prevailing state wage rates, which are included in the bid packet. The agreement included in the bid packet is for informational purposes only; if the bid is accepted, the contractor will be expected to sign the enclosed agreement. The Preble County Commissioners reserve the right to accept or reject any or all bids, or waive any irregularities in bidding; and to contract with the bidder(s) offering the lowest and best bid.
