The Vancouver Island Health Authority (“Island Health”) is issuing this Request for Tender (RFT) to invite Elevator Modernization Contractor to provide services for the Elevator #5 Modernization and Cab Refurbishment project at the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital located at 1200 Dufferin Crescent, Nanaimo, BC. The project includes the modernization of NRGH Elevator #5 and cab refurbishments for multiple elevators, as per the provided project design manual. Key responsibilities include: 1. Elevator #5 Modernization Upgrading the elevator system, including mechanical components, to meet current standards and improve reliability and safety. All work must align with the specifications detailed in the project documentation. 2. Cab Refurbishment Refurbish the Elevator #5 cab as part of the modernization scope. Refurbish the cabs for Tower Elevators #1, #2, and #3 in accordance with the Project Design Manual. Coordinate cab refurbishment scheduling and elevator downtime requirements with Island Health to maintain operational continuity. 3. Coordination with Separate Electrical and Mechanical Contractors Electrical and mechanical work associated with Elevator #5 will be managed separately by Island Health, which will engage designated electrical and mechanical contractor(s). The awarded elevator contractor is responsible for close coordination with these contractor(s) to ensure proper interfaces, seamless integration, and timely completion (including information exchange, site access, shutdowns, testing support, and commissioning coordination). 4. Infection Control, Hoarding, and Site Requirements Island Health will manage infection control and hoarding requirements for the project site. The elevator contractor must coordinate all related activities with the Island Health project management team and comply with all site/IPAC requirements to minimize disruption, control dust/noise, maintain safe egress, and protect patients, staff, and visitors.
