The construction of 68th Street will be completed while under closure to through traffic. Detour signage and traffic control devices shall be placed according to the construction detour signage shown on the Detour Plan or from the Traffic Control Plan submitted and approved by KCRC. The signage must be maintained throughout the project. The contractor is required to inspect all signs and other traffic control items daily. Access to homes, businesses and intersecting streets within the project limits shall be maintained at all times. Access for safety vehicles shall be maintained as well. The Contractor shall also maintain communication with the local emergency agencies. The Contractor will use material such as gravel, HMA millings or other satisfactory material as directed by the Engineer and will not be paid for separately. Any deviation from this must be approved by the Engineer. The Contractor must communicate with and get property owner approval any time that access to property will be impacted due to the Construction. Maintaining traffic shall be in accordance with section 812 of the Standard Specifications for Construction and this Special Provision. All signing shall conform to the 2025 edition of the Michigan Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MMUTCD). Payment for the cost of maintaining access to driveway approaches within the construction area will not be made separately and is included in the prices bid for other items of work. The contractor shall adhere to the attached detour plan, any changes to the detour shall be submitted to KCRC for approval.
