Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Sunnyside, Washington. Conceptual plans call for site work for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; road / highway; and sidewalk / parking lot.
The City of Sunnyside seeks consulting firms with expertise in Civil and Structural Engineering Design for a contract of approximately twelve months on a Cost Plus Fixed Fee basis, with possible extensions. The projects include Pedestrian Safety Improvements, 1st Street and Yakima Valley Highway Intersection Improvements, and the Interstate 82/Hwy 241 Eastbound Roundabout. The Consultant will prepare Plans, Specifications, and Estimates for these projects, including curb extensions, illumination, signing, pavement markings, curb ramps, travel lane realignment, sidewalks, ADA ramps, storm drainage, and construction of a new roundabout with associated roadwork and lighting. The scope includes evaluation and inspection of existing intersections, recommendations for improvements, design of retrofitted upgrades, coordination with utility providers, environmental documentation and permit application preparation, and delivering a complete PS&E package for submission. Submittals must be limited to 30 pages (excluding cover and end pages), and should include firm and personnel information as outlined. Submittals are to be made electronically by the deadline; late submissions will not be accepted. It is the consultant's responsibility to obtain updates or addenda from the city's website. The City reserves the right to amend or withdraw the RFQ and retain services for subsequent phases.
