The demolition and removal will include the complete removal of all existing and previous abutments and foundations, whether shown on the plans or not. Any existing piles that interfere with proposed pile locations are to be removed completely in accordance with the plans. The construction of a temporary cofferdam and maintaining stream flow shall be in accordance with section 501 of the Specifications. During removal operations, temporary shielding shall be used to prevent material from falling into the stream. Temporary turbidity barriers shall be installed in the stream to control downstream turbidity and to allow for dewatering of the work area and installation of the piles and precast concrete abutments.
