The Metropolitan District seeks formal bids from qualified contractors to provide all labor, materials, equipment, and services needed to rehabilitate the waste heat boilers at the Metropolitan District Commission's Heat Recovery Facility within the Hartford Water Pollution Control Facility. The purpose of this work is to allow the District to obtain re-certification of the pressure vessels for continued operation in Connecticut. The scope includes, but is not limited to, both Internal Inspections and External Inspections, with required completion and documentation for each. Bidders must show they are qualified and competent to perform the work. The facility uses two Alstom-manufactured waste heat boilers to generate steam from three multiple-hearth sludge incinerators, supplying a 2.0 MW turbine-generator system for on-site electricity use at the treatment plant.
