Question Deadline 02/12/2026 at 12:00 PM CT All bid questions/requests must be received Overview: The Drummond Elementary School is located Northwest of Chicago downtown, Southeast of Logan Square area, off WB Kennedy Expressway. It’s a three-story space consisting of Main Building only. The project base scope includes floor replacement in the first, second and third floors. The floor areas covered are in the library, classrooms, corridors and stair landings. Floor replacement materials consist of new carpet tiles (Library) and new VCT tiles in all other areas. Floor replacement in Rooms 102 and 103 is included as Alternate 1. Wall repair in Room 102 is included as Alternate 2. A majority of the scoped floor areas are tested as environmentally hazardous. That manual will also clarify if any work must be done by an RRP certified vendor. Required abatement work must be performed by licensed Illinois Abatement contractor. The test Reports and MEC Design Manual by SPC Inc. will be furnished as an Addendum next week. 1. Replace existing VCT to new VCT tiles - Rooms 104, first floor corridor and the stair landing between the 1st and 2 nd floors. Include long corridor type closet areas located behind the classroom, where applicable. Except for Room 104, existing VCT in all other areas are expected to be hazardous and must be abated by an Illinois Licensed contractor. All abatement work in the above listed areas is required to be completed behind one common enclosure, as directed by MEC PM. New VCT tiles will meet the current CPS Specifications per the section included in this bid package. Existing floor is required to be prepped to accept the new tiles as needed. Demolished materials will be disposed of per CPS standards. Replace existing wall base with new vinyl base. MEC manual will be issued next week. 2. Replace existing VCT or carpet to new VCT tiles - Rooms 200, 201, 206, 301, second and third floor corridors and the stair landing between the 2 nd and 3 rd floors.
