The Town of East Hartford ('the Town') is seeking a qualified developer to redevelop 590 Burnside Avenue ('the property'). The property is a town-owned vacant lot located on Burnside Avenue which has been a priority location for redevelopment. Since the late 1990s, the Town has acquired and demolished properties in the neighborhood, invested in a new Public Safety complex ($21,000,000), and supported the development of a $2,100,000 medical office building comprising 14,892 SF. In March of 2023, the Town Redevelopment Agency sold a parcel it owned at 550 Burnside Avenue to Habitat for Humanity of North Central Connecticut. Habitat utilized the property to construct Burnside Hope, a development of ten single-family homes for first-time homebuyers that was completed in fall 2025 and is fully occupied.
