Site work and new construction of a power facility in Toronto, Ontario. Completed plans call for the construction of a one-story above grade power facility.
The University of Toronto is seeking to shortlist up to three Design-Build (DB) teams for services related to the design and construction of Central Utility Plant 2 (CUP2) at the University of Toronto Mississauga. CUP2 is envisioned as a nodal utility plant that will provide resilient, low-carbon heating and cooling, and normal and emergency power to the west part of campus, supporting the university's transition to a climate-positive operating model by 2050. The infrastructure is intended to be adaptable, energy-efficient, and educationally integrated, serving as a 'living lab' with interactive exhibits, colour-coded infrastructure, and integration with GIS platforms and library resources to enable engagement with real-time building and system data. Shortlisted proponents will be invited to submit a response to a subsequent RFP. The University has retained Stantec as Owner's Compliance Representative for this Project.
