**As of March 26th, 2026 this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for the award has not yet been established.** Jefferson County (the County) is soliciting proposals to perform Abatement Project Monitoring and Air Monitoring services during the demolition of two buildings at the Former Abbass Food Processing Site. A variance has been secured with the New York State Department of Labor to demolish the existing structures in place. The Abbass Foods site is located at 8772 Factory Street, Evans Mills, NY on tax parcel 55.63-1-1. Jefferson County owns the property and completed a project to demolish the building on the East side of Factory Street in 2025. The County is now undertaking a project to complete a controlled demolition of 2 remaining buildings on the West side of Factory Street starting in Spring 2026. The County is soliciting proposals for a Full-Time Project Monitor for project oversight and air monitoring in accordance with the site-specific variance.
