The Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO) requires the services of a qualified contractor to provide the design and construction of a minimum 1,500 sq/ft covered, timber-framed (or comparable) outdoor classroom at the snccmalqtn Agricultural Park. The selected contractor will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive, turn-key solution that includes all aspects of design, engineering, permitting assistance, materials, labour, and installation. Question Deadline 02/25/2026 at 3:30 PM PT All questions regarding this Request for Proposal (RFP) should be directed to Andy Affleck, Manager Parks and Recreation, by email at andy.affleck@rdno.ca The project scope includes the creation of a durable, functional, and aesthetically aligned outdoor learning space featuring a timber-framed structural system (or equivalent), appropriate footings, a poured concrete slab, roofing capable of withstanding local climate conditions, and integrated furnishings to comfortably accommodate 30-50 students. The completed structure must support year-round educational programming and community use while reflecting the natural and cultural character of the park. The contractor will be expected to work collaboratively with RDNO staff to ensure that all specifications meet safety standards, accessibility requirements, and long-term operational needs.
