Sealed bids are invited for the LA-2023 TV Newark Morris Canal Bikeway project in the City of Newark, New Jersey, Contract No. 2024-07. Bids must be submitted in accordance with plans and specifications prepared by the City of Newark. Each bid must include a certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond for 10% of the total bid (not exceeding $20,000), payable to the Owner, as a guarantee. The successful bidder will provide payment and performance bonds each for 100% of the contract award and must submit a completed Consent of Surety Form. All contractors must provide a valid Public Works Contractor's Registration Certificate at the time of bid submission. The contractor must adhere to the New Jersey Prevailing Wage Act and set aside at least 25% of the contract bid price to a Minority owned Business Enterprise and an additional 7% to a Women owned Business Enterprise, through various eligible methods. Successful bidders must attend a meeting with, and obtain clearance from, the City's Office of Affirmative Action prior to contract execution. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive informalities, and award the contract to the lowest responsible bidder in the City's best interests. Failure to comply with instructions and submission requirements may result in disqualification and rejection of the bid.
