As of March 12, 2026, project was awarded to SM Hentges & Sons Inc., awarded amount is $1,863,966.75. Project Scope: The project includes but is not limited to bituminous trail, helical pile and wood boardwalk construction, trail lighting, wayfinding signage, trail counters, stormwater management, and site restoration per the plans and specifications. The project will include constructing a new 650-foot-long boardwalk structure over a low-lying wetland and Plymouth Creek. The boardwalk structure is to be supported on helical pile foundations and constructed just to the south of the current wood-chipped walking path. Also, bituminous surfaced connecting trails, 8 to 10 feet wide, will be constructed to integrate the boardwalk structure with the existing trail system on both sides of the project. We assume grade changes along the planned trail connection and boardwalk approaches will be minimal (less than 2 feet) to reduce potential impacts or disturbances to the adjacent low-lying wetland. A certified check, cashier's check, or bidder's bond shall accompany each bid in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid made payable to the City of Plymouth, Minnesota which shall be forfeited to the City of Plymouth in the event the successful bidder fails to enter into a contract with the City of Plymouth. The City of Plymouth reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive irregularities and informalities therein and to award the contract in the best interests of the City. The Owner reserves the right to hold and consider the bids for 60 days after the date of the bid opening and no bids may be withdrawn for a period of 60 days. The right to waive any informality in any bid and reject any or all bids is reserved to the Owner.
