The District is seeking bids from highly qualified roofing contractors for the Oakley Maintenance Shop Roof Replacement project as outlined within this solicitation package. The specifications reference the replacement and repairs of Oakley Maintenance Shop roof and associated metal work. Location - 2226 Old Highway 52 Moncks Corner, SC 29461 Scope of work includes roof replacement of low slope Roof Areas A and B down to the existing roof deck at Oakley Maintenance Shop for approximately 271 squares. Roof replacement includes roof deck repairs, insulation system, and a modified bitumen roof system. Associated sheet metal components and accessories are included. Scope of work includes the installation of new flat-lock seam metal wall panels and vented aluminum soffits as indicated in the Construction Drawings. Your offer must include either a bid bond issued by a surety or sureties licensed in South Carolina or a certified check. The amount of surety shall be five per cent (5%) of the total bid amount. This bid bond penalty may be expressed in terms of a percentage of the bid price or may be expressed in dollars and cents. If a certified check is submitted in lieu of a bid bond, it must be made payable to the District. The contractor shall provide performance and payment bond in the full amount of the contract sum, issued by a surety company licensed in South Carolina, with an "A" minimum rating of performance as stated in the most current publication of "best's key rating guide, property liability" which shall show a financial strength rating of at least five (5) times the contract amount. Each bond must be accompanied by a "power of attorney" authorizing the attorney-in-fact to bind the surety and certified to include the date of the performance bond. [07-7B155-1] During the term of the contract, the Contractor shall be responsible for obtaining, and maintaining in good standing, all licenses (including professional licenses, if any), permits, inspections and related fees for each or any such licenses, permits and /or inspections required by the District, county, city or other government entity or unit to accomplish the work specified in this solicitation and the contract.
